Giroflex & Gabriel collab adds a new depth of colour to the Giroflex seating range

The Giroflex & Gabriel collaboration features eight Swiss-inspired Runner mesh colours that elevate Giroflex seating with vibrant, contemporary hues, blending design innovation and functional elegance for modern workspaces.

Flokk brand Giroflex has teamed up with Gabriel Fabrics to create an exciting range of new colours developed especially for Giroflex. This collaboration, which merges the technical expertise of both brands, brings to life eight carefully selected colours using Gabriel’s innovative Runner mesh fabric.

The result is a sophisticated palette that enhances the design of Giroflex chairs and adds depth to modern workspaces.

The story behind the collaboration

“We wanted to give our customers greater choice and create a colour palette that truly reflects the values of the Giroflex brand,” says Pernille Jensen Stoltze, Textile Designer at Flokk. “Our goal was to embody the Swiss spirit in these colours, whilst making them versatile enough to fit different environments and markets.”

Swissness goes beyond efficiency and durability; it embodies a deep connection to nature, simplicity, and subtle elegance. To achieve this, the team embarked on an inspirational journey through Switzerland, visiting design museums and contemporary brands alike. This exploration of Swiss architecture, nature, and urban life was instrumental in shaping the final colour palette. BIG-GAME Design, who were also part of the design team explain, “We wanted hues that were contemporary and connected to both nature and urban life—a reflection of the Swiss identity without being too obvious.”

The new colour range is not just a reflection of the timeless values of Swiss design, they were carefully planned to allow for easy pairing with upholstered fabrics, especially for chairs such as the giroflex 313, which features a mesh back with upholstered seat. The richer variety of mesh options opens up exciting new opportunities for customers, as well as matching the wider Flokk portfolio.

Why Runner?

The choice of Gabriel’s Runner fabric was no accident. Runner’s 3D knitted mesh structure is known for its durability, comfort, and striking aesthetic. “Runner is a fabric that blends technology with elegance,” says Cenk Kikrikoglu, Creative Director at Gabriel. “Its dimensional stability and moisture diffusion properties make it an excellent choice for office environments, ensuring both comfort and functionality.”

This fabric is not only technically advanced but also eco-friendly, one of only a few mesh fabrics to carry the EU Ecolabel. Its man-made materials are designed to be both strong and sustainable, offering a padded feel without the need for foam, which aligns perfectly with Giroflex’s commitment to longevity and environmental responsibility.

“Runner stays modern because of its technical and precise look,” adds Pernille. “It’s versatile and can marry well with various furniture styles, making it an ideal choice for the Giroflex chairs.”

The power of colour in workspace design

Colours play a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere of a workspace, influencing mood, productivity, and well-being. The new colour palette, which includes a mix of light, mid-tone, and darker shades, is designed to harmonise with architectural elements like wood, concrete, and glass. “We wanted colours that evoke a sense of calm and grounding, without being dull,” says BIG-GAME. “The palette is contemporary yet timeless, ensuring it remains relevant for years to come.”
