We are proud to announce that OFFECCT Circulus has been awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best in the 2025 Red Dot Award: Product Design – the highest distinction in one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions.
This outstanding recognition is reserved for only the most pioneering products in each category. Circulus impressed the Red Dot Jury not only with its distinctive visual character, but also its thoughtful balance of design and functionality. With a flexible modular system, a strong focus on circularity, and ease of maintenance, Circulus stands out as a smart solution for public spaces. In addition to the top honour, Circulus was also awarded the Red Dot for high design quality, making it a double winner in this year’s competition.
Modular design with circular principles
OFFECCT Circulus, designed by Mario Ferrarini, is made for modern public spaces, combining elegant form with lasting function. Its lightweight aluminium frame supports a flexible system of three modules—seat, mid-height backrest, and high backrest—that can be configured in countless ways.
Built with circular design in mind, Circulus uses smart materials, easy-to-replace parts, and a clip system that avoids adhesives, making upholstery changes simple and sustainable.
What the Jury said
The Red Dot Jury, comprising renowned design experts from across the globe, praised OFFECCT Circulus for its intelligent construction and aesthetics:
“Circulus is very unique in terms of its character. The design is incredibly clever and incorporates various inspiring details, such as the recessed legs which give the furniture a floating appearance. This modular seating group is a very flexible solution for public spaces that reflects the principles of circular design.”
The jury also noted the exceptional comfort, achieved through dense foam padding and a perforated frame that encourages airflow, ensuring Circulus delivers long-lasting performance without compromising on user experience.
Best of the Best
Winning the Red Dot: Best of the Best means OFFECCT Circulus will be featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, showcased on the Red Dot website, and exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
The award ceremony will take place at the Red Dot Gala on 8 July 2025, celebrating the world’s leading innovations in product design.
