Sustainability at the core
Snap’s commitment to sustainability is evident in every aspect of its design. “We have developed the product according to the principles of a closed-loop economy,” Tomasz notes. Snap’s parts can be easily disassembled, repaired, and recycled, reducing waste and extending the product’s lifespan. The upholstery is secured with string rather than glue or staples, allowing the covers to be replaced as needed, refreshing the chair without creating unnecessary waste.
One particularly innovative feature is Snap’s tool-free assembly system. A distinctive “click” confirms that the chair’s backrest has been correctly installed, eliminating the need for screws or specialised tools. This intuitive design not only simplifies setup but also makes disassembly easy at the end of the chair’s life cycle, ensuring all materials can be properly recycled.
Overcoming challenges in design
Creating a chair that’s both comfortable and environmentally friendly isn’t without its challenges. Tomasz highlights the delicate balance between using materials like polyurethane foam, which offers great comfort but has a high carbon footprint. “In the fluffy version, we minimised the proportion of foam without sacrificing comfort,” he shares, combining it with lightweight polyester fibres to achieve the perfect balance. This innovative approach ensures the Snap chair meets high standards of comfort while keeping its environmental impact low.
Looking forward
Snap isn’t just another chair—it’s a statement about the future of office furniture. “Through the use of innovative solutions, technology, and recycled materials, our design redefines the standards of comfort, durability, and eco-friendliness in the furniture industry,” Tomasz says proudly. With certifications like GREENGUARD Gold and EU Ecolabel, Snap sets a new benchmark for what office seating can be: stylish, sustainable, and superbly comfortable.
