Interior lifestyle blogger shares her recent kitchen renovation project

We speak to ‘Lust Living’ author Olivia Edwards-Silk about her stunning kitchen & dining room makeover, and hear why she adores the RBM Noor.

Hi Olivia! Tell us a little bit about you

Hi! My name is Olivia Edwards-Silk, author of Interior Lifestyle Blog ‘Lust Living’, and I live in our Derbyshire home with my husband Matt, our 5-month-old daughter Nova and our two dogs.

How did you get into interior design?

I suppose you could say I’ve been ‘working’ in the interior industry for around 6 years now since I started my blog Lust Living, and it all grew from there. Initially, my brand started on Instagram like it has for many. I was simply posting photos of my home and to my surprise, people really started taking an interest!

Where do you get inspiration from, and what trends have you found this year?

I find inspiration scrolling Pinterest, Instagram, and magazines, on trips abroad and ultimately combine styles that I love. This year I’ve been loving neutral colours teamed with curved shapes and soft textures.

Tell us about your new kitchen

Our recent kitchen renovation really opened up the downstairs of the house and is now the social hub and heart of the home, it’s where you can find me most of the day every day!

I went for a bold but minimal style with our kitchen design – matt black cupboards with marble effect stone worktops and dining table and I wanted to rely on the dining chairs to add that much-needed pop of colour to the space which is why I chose the rose pink colour way!

Your new kitchen features a set of RBM Noor chairs – what are your favourite features?

For a few years now I’ve had the RBM Noor chair in Rose with the sledge base and seat cushion as my office desk chair (where I sit for hours editing) so I knew that not only were they good looking chairs, they are comfortable and built to last. So choosing Flokk again for our dining chairs was an easy choice – as well as being sustainable design.

I went without the seat cushions to make them practical (easily wipeable) for a dining area and chose the 4-leg instead of the sledge base so that our robotic hoover could easily navigate around them every day – seriously ha!

The felt feet option was the obvious choice too paired with our new engineered hardwood flooring! I’m fairly minimal with my interior style these days and stick to neutrals and monochrome tones but I’ve always had a soft spot for pastel pink which is why it’s probably the most predominant colour around our home – and the Flokk ‘Rose’ really is that perfect pastel pink shade.
